Parent Workshop Nov. 30: Understanding the Committee on Special Education process

Posted Date: 11/06/26 (12:00 PM)

If you have questions about how the Committee on Special Education, or CSE, process works, you’ll want to visit the Jane Bolin Administration Building Monday, Nov. 30.

The Office of Students with Exceptionalities, or OSWE, is holding the second session in its 2026-27 Parent Workshop Series, at which it aims to help parents better understand the CSE process and prepare for their meeting.

The free session will be 10 a.m. to roughly 11 a.m. Nov. 30 at the administration building, located at 18 S. Perry St. Light refreshments will be provided. Email Executive Director of Students with Exceptionalities Mary Gilmore at mgilmore@poughkeepsieschools.org to RSVP or ask questions. Check out the attached flyer for more information.

Poughkeepsie’s OSWE supports students through a wide range of programs; you may not even be aware your student qualifies for some of the services provided until you meet with the team. You can also visit Poughkeepsieschools.org/oswe to learn more about programs offered.
