This is especially true this summer as the district prepares to offer bus service to most elementary students for the first time. Are you looking for a meaningful opportunity to support students and give back to your community?

Ampact and the Poughkeepsie City School District are seeking dedicated individuals to serve as tutors through the Early Learning Corps and K-3 Math Corps programs. Full- and part-time positions are available. These are service positions, not traditional jobs — and they offer the chance to make a lasting difference in students’ lives.

As an AmeriCorps member, you’ll help students build key academic skills while receiving a bi-weekly stipend of up to $832, eligibility for health insurance, and a Segal Education Award upon successful completion of your service, which can be used toward tuition or to repay qualified student loans.

Early Learning Corps members serve in pre-K classrooms, helping young children strengthen their language, literacy, and social-emotional skills to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.

K-3 Math Corps members work with students in small groups to build foundational math skills through targeted, daily practice that complements classroom instruction.
